When composing an image, whether in the studio or on location, I consider factors like attire (solid colors are often best) and backgrounds. Lighting plays a crucial role in emphasizing facial features and creating the desired mood. It can range from strong, direct sunlight to soft, non-directional light. In the studio, various modifiers like umbrellas, soft-boxes, and focused spots help shape the light to evoke specific emotions.
